Opened in 1976 in the Padre Staples Mall as Trader Rick’s, selling coins and southwestern style jewelry. Soon after, we expanded into other types of jewelry. Sometime later, “Gems and Gold” was added to our name. As the Mall expanded , my store was renamed to Trader Rick’s Gems and Gold.

In 2001, we relocated to the Promenade Shopping Center on the corner of Airline and McArdle. I closed the store in 2015 with all inventory. I opened an office in 2016 at 4949 Everhart, selling by appointment only. Most of our merchandise is stored off premise.
